Nipe
Tano through the FLAG
Leadership Centres runs the following programs:
1. Nanga ya Vijana is a leadership
program set up in 2001 to develop leadership within Colleges and Universities. Red
Channel was initiated due to the growing need for well-equipped graduates,
ready to transition into the competitive market.
2. Blackrock
Sports is a sport
program that I set up in 2004 that trains and develops the athletic talent
among children and young people. The program is structured to offer training
and talent development around various sport disciplines. The program runs in
association with the Rock College program, which manages the Blackrock School
of Sports program within schools and colleges.
3. FLAG. In 2007 within the governance and political
process, I set up FLAG to raise and mobilize citizens into political parties,
town halls, county assemblies, parliaments, senates, county and national state
houses’ and cabinets’ across Africa. The objective of this program is to engage
the power of the Constitution and the state, to ensure that law and order is
administered in the interest of transformed leadership.
4. Gabriel. The Transformed Entrepreneur
program is an entrepreneurship program that I set up through the Rock program
in 2009 that seeks to restore and transform markets within East Africa by
supporting Home & Micro Entrepreneurs (HME’s). This program currently has
30 entrepreneurs and runs once a month.
5. Rock – The Rock program is an education
program that seeks to support children’s academic and talent development. Based
on the Rock Timetable set up in 2011, the program partners with different
schools within the region to provide quality teaching and learning based on a
continuous learning approach from primary, to secondary through to tertiary
education.
6. The
Art of Life – Art
of Life is the latest of the programs that I set up in 2012 under the Rock
College. As an arts program that trains and develops the performance and
creative art talent among children and young people, the program is structured
to offer training and talent development around various art disciplines.
7. Centigrade is a social marketing program built
around the Groundwork outreach program. This program has been designed to
disseminate leadership, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and social campaigns
skills. The program is set to be launched later this year.
Through
these outreach programs, the FLAG Leadership Centre has identified, began to
train and nurture 384 leaders in Kenya, Rwanda and Southern Sudan in these
areas of personal development, family, education, media, enterprise, politics,
sports, arts, science and technology. The Leadership Centre hopes to impact
approximately 12,200 ambassadors in the East African region by 2017 through the
Global Enterprise Model O.P.I (Organizational Performance Index), as a
benchmark metric.
We
envision Nipe Tano with a global online community of 150,000 people and
a FLAG Leadership Centre campus in the port city of Mombasa by September 2013.
We intend for this Centre to have identified 1080 new leaders within the
community through an outreach program called Groundwork. By September 2017, we
hope that the Centre would have identified an additional 10,700 leaders through
Groundwork and have established FOrT as its resource investment centre
